Mayor to visit to accept a MAGIC cheque
On Saturday 16th May the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Robin Parker will be visiting Heywood Market at 1.00pm. As his term of office is on the verge of being completed, the purpose of his visit is to accept the funds raised and donated by the Board and Traders of Heywood Market for the Mayor's Charities. The Mayor's chosen Charities are very good causes being the British Heart Foundation and Springhill Hospice. The activities undertaken to raise the funds include collecting tins on traders counters, tombolas and raffles as well as a significant donation from Heywood MAGIC - the Community Trust which operate the market.
The market and its Traders are to switch their fund raising activities to raising money for the St Luke's Scout and Guide Building Fund as they promised late last year.
